Clarification on the new OKC messaging changes (Talked to friend that works at OKC)

This change forces women to do more work at the risk of opening themselves up to more harassment and promises poorer quality matches in the bargain.

Can you explain this? I don't understand. You say you don't use "likes" because men like your profile solely based on attractiveness. But YOU can still Like based on their whole profile.

So all they're asking you to do now is vet people by swiping. Everything else will be the same, except only the men you've vetted (by reading their profile) will be able to message you.

Beforehand, anyone could message you whether you Liked them or not, and you'd have no idea whether or not those people actually liked you for your profile or just your photos.

I'm not sure how this opens you up to more harassment and poorer quality matches.

[and this is a serious question, I'm genuinely interested in your answer]
