Frankly you sound like one of the more educated and informed members of the liberal population. I actually would enjoy discussing some of these issues with you if you are open to a civil and polite conversation.
I have been rather intentional about “poking the bear” tonight…and I apologize for being disrespectful! I am frustrated by the Trudeau response to the Freedom Convoy and I felt the need to blow off some “political steam”, however that is no excuse for verbally attacking people I know have a different political point of view.
If you would actually care to have a polite discussion (what a concept in this day and age, right?) I would enjoy talking with you. I’m going to bed for tonight, but I will see if you replied tomorrow.
Please though…no vitriol, anger, swearing, insults, etc. That stuff is what we do in these subs…but let’s face it - hurling insults at one another is just a point;ess waste of time. I would sincerely like to hear your views about some of these issues and share mine with you in a respectful manner.
I know we come from very different points of view and I don’t expect that either of us will change the other’s mind, however I truly believe if we are ever going to have a chance to heal the extreme political divide we have in America today we absolutely must learn how to respectfully discuss issues with people who have a different point of view from our own.
We need to re-learn as a society that it is okay to disagree with someone politically without feeling the need to be completely separated from that person. This extremism is honestly very concerning to me. I am honestly far more concerned about the cultural disrespect among our fellow citizens that I am about who is sitting in the Oval Office.
If you feel similarly, reach out to me and we can meet via PM or another method if we agree. I hope to hear from you!
