The classic Simpsons episode with Michael Jackson's voice will disappear. Executive producer Jim Brooks says HBO doc Leaving Neverland convinced him to pull it.

Well technically they are, people still share them online and considering these episodes have "BBC Archive" watermarks over them, it's someone working for the organisation.

Also let's not pretend the BBC isn't picky on what they edit out of episodes when they do repeat them.

They'll gladly edit out Gary Glitter performances right now, but they won't edit out mentions of him during the chart rundown because that's impossible to do a clean edit. They'll even leave in cover versions, or samples of his songs other artists perform or use.

Back when they started the repeats, they used to edit out Glitter, then people complained that "you're editing history, we can deal with it", so they then ran the episodes unedited apart from a disclaimer before the episode and on screen during his performances for people who just so happened to come across it. They received zero complaints.

Then all the Savile stuff came out and they started editing again.
