Classic WoW should be cheaper than retail WoW

Thanks for your comment, this is the type of reply I was hoping to get from this post. I do see the value to them in keeping the bundling as the ultimate goal probably is to convert some re-sparked classic players to retail. However, I'm not sure retail is necessarily more profitable. It definitely generates more revenue, but it has higher maintenance and development costs as well. And they could still try to convert people from classic to retail even if they weren't bundled, because classic at $8 would by definition have a much wider top of the funnel based on price alone. At $8 they would simply onboard many more people than at $15. Classic could be seen as the starter package, and even at $8 I would guess the net profit margin of a sub is probably only $1 - $3 less at most than retail at $15.
