Climate Change being considered a Politics topic instead of a Science topiç is part of the problem and helps sabotage any discussions on it

With the disclaimer that the worlds governments have done an awful job managing the COVID pandemic, with a few exceptions like New Zealand or Korea.

Meanwhile the solution has been the scientific innovation of vaccines through the free market. I think most people can certainly agree with both of these claims.

Now I'm not saying scientific innovation will for a fact solve climate change, or that government policy isn't needed as well. What I am saying is that despite their track records, people still overwhelmingly appeal to government everytime there's a problem. Meanwhile there is a large distrust for the free market that seems to be based in ideology, and not the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Yes, free trade is certainly contributing to global warming. But it's easy to talk from a point of privilege when almost half the world is still awfully poor. And to say we should prioritize global warming over everything else simply because it worries us rich people in the West the most. Without considering the cost-benefit analysis of other sustainable development goals that have much higher ROIs.
