Climate change doom and women's futures?

I totally agree and find it very worrisome. I work in fire prevention...Drought combined with heat has increased wildfires both in frequency and severity. It's plainly obvious to those of us in the field that something is seriously afoot. Obviously, I expect my employment to be somewhat secure and I love what I do. But I think more in terms of a global breakdown, will my savings/stocks/retirement account even hold? Will money even matter anymore? What about disease? We are already seeing the latter. I am extremely privileged where I live, but I have no illusions about the stability of that, and how it could change in an instant. To be honest, I don't think the US is even that stable with its recent political upheaval and lack of good leadership.

I recently switched to compostable bags, and I hope that we can basically eliminate waste between myself and my partner. He's on board. Nonetheless, we are part of systemic devastation, cogs in an unfortunate wheel - drive cars, buy products, computers, plastic etc. We are but mere mortals. Maybe there is a sequence to all this, humans are clearly very harmful to our ecosystem and maybe, like previous catastrophic events, our destiny is written on the wall. I don't know.

Because I have infertility, I will not be having children. Even though it wasn't my choice, I appreciate the environmental benefits of that outcome. I do donate to environmental groups, much the way I feel about a Hail Mary. I agree with one of the comments below - learn some practical survival skills.
