I climbed from 1800 SR to 2700 SR in 4-nights in an effort for data collection. I'm here to help anyone in that rank understand specifics for their ranking.

More than anything, try to get your team acting as a team.

I always start with a mic check, say hey and, if the comp doesn't look very bad, I will roll with it. Usually saying something like "Hey guys. This doesn't look too bad, but if we run into some issues, could we get people to switch off onto something else" works.

It makes them feel like they aren't being targeted for their picks, but still acknowledging that "This could work, but if the matchup is even we may need to get some more conventional shit going on."

Then, I ask for everyone to join team chat and then just wait for the game to start. I'll ask everyone how they are, recommend a strategy, like "Do you guys wanna push left past choke with Rein shield, or right?".

That, and throughout the whole match, I make every call I can, and always always congratulate the team for doing well. Great push, nice defense, holy crap guys nice combo, etc. At worst, they are hopefully listening to those call-outs and playing better because of it. Even if they aren't talking.

There honestly isn't much you can do outside of trying to foster that team environment or just being better. There were many times when climbing when we were down to our last 60 seconds, so I would switch off to my main and just do a final push, but that was due to me being at least 300-400 SR above the teams I was fighting against, so that is a bit more geared towards players who are below their intended bracket.

But just being aware of your gameplay, not 'auto-piloting' while you play and continually actively looking for flaws in what you are doing will help you climb. The above stuff I mentioned will just make it easier, will help your team and make it much less frustrating for you. Shot-calling in higher ranks isn't uncommon, so getting into that attitude of making calls is always a useful skill to learn.

And never tilt. Never say "fuck it" and just play whatever you want because you're expecting to lose. All it takes is 3 people making a decent play to put you at a huge advantage when you previously didn't have one.
