Clinton: We cannot put 'climate denier' in White House

I'm a research scientist. I know how to read research. I have published over a dozen peer-reviewed papers. I do research for a living.

I hate to tell you, but if you think climate change is a lie, you're going to need some actual evidence to back it up. Since it's a complex topic, you might have some evidence from scientists that you think refutes climate change. You need to be prepared for counter-evidence to you counter-evidence, and so on...because that's how science works.

The vast majority of evidence points to climate change being real. Thus far all of the evidence that has been used to refute it has itself been thoroughly refuted, and not just "because someone said so". The data are publicly available. You can look at the result of every single experiment cited in any climate change paper. If someone wanted to disprove climate change, they have everything they need...and hundreds of thousands of people have tried! They couldn't. They couldn't even cast doubt on it. It's literally one of the most sure things in the world right now.

I wish it weren't. I don't like staring at something that could make my children's lives shorter or more difficult. I really don't. I wish it weren't real, but it is and we need to do something about it because I don't want my kids' lives fucked up because some people couldn't accept something they didn't want to believe because they might make less money.
