Cloud Gaming

I’m a day 1 Stadia player. I’m not a fanboy and I’m not willing to die on the Stadia altar. But the platform works for me and I still enjoy it, in parallel with my gaming PC.

The quality is not as good as a gaming PC or a console, but having the ability to switch from PC to TV to mobile device works for me.

I have tried GFN lowest tier and I wasn’t impressed at all by the experience. I also find it hard to justify paying for a higher tier for a service that is not as ubiquitous as Stadia in terms of supported devices.

I do believe that cloud gaming is an inevitable future, just like any other media and software now going in the cloud. But I don’t think it is fully ready yet.

Stadia has Outrider as a pro game this month. Two of my buddies bought the game at launch last year, so I decided to give it a go on Stadia and I enjoyed it. I had a few streaming issues due to my internet connection and because crossplay is sometimes laggy, I decided to get XBox Game pass for a month to play with my friends this week end. The game is definitely prettier at ultra setting on PC, but I’ve had so many issues with the PC version (crashes, game refusing to boot, etc) and compatibility issue between Steam and Game pass (friends list not working) that I’m seriously considering going back to Stadia.
