Clueless vs Protoss

I've been having a lot of success with the Hammer build lately. I tried it a few months back and I failed miserably, so I don't know if my execution of it is better, or the meta has changed or what, but it's working great for me these last few weeks.

This is what I do, I think my version is a variation from the standard because I tend to get a factory before expanding, and I do some scouting. Essentially it is so aggressive that you either win outright, or you make the toss so defensive that you can expand and build up a bigger army to crush him around 12 minutes or so.

  • 10 depo at ramp
  • 12 rax at ramp
  • 13 gas (3 in gas)
  • Orbital (drop constant mules, maybe save some for scans later to kill observers)
  • Supply - wall off
  • make 2 marines
    • What is good is if he does scout you around now, everything looks normal to him
  • Factory, constant mines
  • Expand into your nat
  • Make tech lab, constant marauders and concussive shells (super important)

You can do some light scouting with your rines, but dont lose them.

Move out with 2 marauders, 2 marines, a mine and one on the way rallied to your main. Burrow this one mine to kill oracle. Bring 2 scvs with you on auto repair. Walk up the ramp and prioritise getting mine burrowed near mineral line. Use marauders to protect mine from stalkers. Use SCVs to build 1 or 2 bunkers and to repair mines. If you get photon overcharged, move back a little but try to stay in the main. Take out any army and pylons that could be used for canons or observers as a priority. It is the mines that really do the work in this build, the marauders are there to protect them by killing stalkers.

Back home you can now build an ebay so you can free up that 1 mine too. Rally you rax and factory to his bas and keep spamming units. If your mine has killed an oracle you probably win outright as he has invested too much outside of his army. If he holds some how, make more rax with techlabs, expand, get startport and slowly crush him. Once you have ebay, put turret in your main and also near your wall in you suspect DTs or some other crazy shit.

Bear in mind I'm only gold/plat. by this I mean I was plat last too seasons and I'm #1 gold and playing plat opponents every few games, even a few dia now and then (god knows why) so I'm just below the plat MMR threshold, I'm no expert, but my win ratio vs toss went up from about 20% to over 50% after perfecting this build. I still suck at vs toss especially in the late game, but this tends to kill them early on or at least get the game over. Works best on smaller maps.

I can show you some replays if you want, let me know.
