Trying to correct past racism with racism doesn’t work. Blacks were treated terribly in the past, such as slavery, Jim Crow, etc. But, that does not mean that they should get preferential treatment in the future. For example, if someone was abused as a child, we would all agree that that is terrible, but it doesn’t mean that they should get to, say, be guaranteed a job. Affirmative action only causes more resentment among those who it negatively impacts, which are whites and Asians.

Diversity of thought is much more important that diversity of skin color. If you’re going to start a business, you would want, for example, an accountant, a business major, and an advertising major. They bring different things to the table, and have different viewpoints and experiences. If I hired three business majors, one white, one black, and one Native American, I do have diversity, but the wrong kind.
