CMV: I am against an assault weapons ban in the US.

If you want to protect yourself, an assault rifle isn't a practical choice.

The accidents were accidents and not purposeful attempts to take away someone's life. There's a difference.

OH NO PLZ DON'T STOP ANSWERING ME! Hahahahah seriously? Someone is wearing their sassy pants today. Your threat to not answer the part of my reply that forces you to put yourself in another perspective demonstrates some pretty big faults. Emotion is a fact. We are not robots. The idea that you will feel sad if someone died is a fact. As I said, sometimes numbers don't paint a full picture. Emotions have weight. Just because it's a tough question for you to answer, doesn't mean it's not a good point. Don't post in CMV if you're not willing to answer and consider all arguments. Go ahead and quit replying but you will just be proving that you're unable to defend your argument on more than one front, OP. :) :)

Stabbing someone to death is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult that shooting them. Stabbing someone 20 times would be exhausting. Shooting someone 20 times, not so much. Look it up. This is a fact. It's a full body motion required to stab someone.

According to whom? Legitimately Google timelines of mass shootings after 2004. Again... Facts, pal. So the 10 year assault weapon ban was a relatively short period so while the numbers may not have been significant during this time, the number of mass shootings have increased by 200% in the 10ish years since the ban was lifted which is a biiiiit more significant. In many of these cases, assault weapons were used. Pointing to one instance as a defense is weak because of course it wasn't perfect but it was better than the massive jump we have seen. Read what I said again, it wouldn't solve all of our problems but it would be a start.

You are basically saying we don't have a problem when we have proof that there is a growing problem. Just because violent crime as a whole has decreased, there are clearly other trends that need attention. Mass murder is a big one.

Many of your arguments are without base and your numbers are taken out of context. Get your facts straight and reply to all of my points or I'll stop replying. ;)
