CMV:I am a black(ish) person who believes that when cops shoot people that they are usually justified and that racism is not a factor in the majority of shootings.

The other aspect of this is that, due to things done to black people in American history, a large portion of blacks live in poor urban environments. This is part of a broken record that is our current justice system. Incarcerated people typically have trouble supporting and educating themselves and their children. People with less money and less education are more likely to fall into the trap of committing non violent crimes which turn them into felons.

In this way, there is no inherent racism, rather a cycle produced by a mix of a racist history, and increased police presence in areas with higher black populations. I think the best way to fix it is crime reform that keeps non violent or petty crimes from ruining a person's life. Both by legalizing or decriminalizing most drugs, and by keeping incarceration from affecting people after their terms have been served. If non violent crimes were stricken from record following the end of a sentence, they wouldn't keep people from working after their sentence.
