People are not denying it because it’s impossible to deny that most/all of the founding fathers had slaves or held racial views that would be considered abhorrent today. People are getting mad because randomly pointing out a dark spot on a country’s history is just being a dick, not making a profound political statement. It’s not saying anything important or new, it’s just repeating the same thing that everyone understands is true, like the opposite of constructive criticism. Besides, if the goal is to piss off other countries, there are infinitely more effective and powerful ways to do that besides pointing out historical facts that middle-schoolers know
