CMV: American Conservitives love Capitilism because white people dont suffer as much from it's economic structure

While I will admit that America is extremely racist and many republicans are racist assholes, I don’t really understand your view. Many of the practices that hurt black people the most such as redlining were actually by definition anti capitalist. Redlining, which basically segregated intercity neighborhoods and made it hard for black people to own homes, goes expressly against capitalism. Not allowing someone to buy a house or get a loan, even when they have enough money, goes against capitalism and pursuit of profits. Enacting laws that discriminate is also not capitalist. The reality is republican “capitalism” is not really the same thing is actually capitalism. A better view would be “Republicans hide government sponsored racism behind capitalism.” Capitalism implies minimal government intervention. Politicians, in the present era mostly republicans, for a very long time have actively took a shit on minorities in America and enacted policies that actively hurt them and discriminated against them. This sort of active discrimination by regulation and laws is the opposite of the hands off approach of capitalism. I’d like to clarify that I’m not defending capitalism just trying to point out that there is a separation between much of the racism that’s occurred in America and capitalism. Capitalism does have its own issues that exacerbate race issues, but in of itself capitalism is about money and profit not about race.
