cmv: "Attention seeking" is very misunderstood

I’d like to challenge the “misunderstood” part of your view. While the terms might be used carelessly, I’d argue that they’re still used accurately in a lot of cases, but lack empathy. For example: calling someone who’s obese or heavy set, fat. It would be insensitive and rude, especially if they’re dealing with medical issues or other stresses that contribute to their weight, but it wouldn’t be wrong. Should someone have to fully understand why a person is the way they are or acting a certain way before they use a “blanket” term to describe them? As far as kindness goes, we’d get a lot further without disrespecting and generalizing others, but I don’t think misunderstanding and not caring are the same in this context, you know?
