Everyone holds discriminatory views, but not everyone acts on their views. Racial/ethnic biases are inherent in every person of every race. Racism requires action, at least in my opinion. So basically if you think Asians are smart, Jews are rich, whites have privilege, blacks commit crimes, etc. These are blanket statements that aren’t really true, but people may believe them because of their upbringing. The human mind likes to categorize and group things to help explain the world. Hence the “Asians are smart” logic. Until you treat a group of people differently because of these beliefs, I don’t really think you’re racist. Its not really any different than holding views like “Americans are loud”, “young people are lazy”, etc.
