CMV: Communism would work a lot better with computers

If unregulated capitalism leads to collusion, then regulations aren’t what make capitalism messy are they? There are intrinsic problems with capitalism that needs to kept in check with regulations.

Monopolies occur for a lot of reasons, and some industries (telecommunication, utilities) are more prone to producing monopolies than other industries. In the example I gave, a company with a lot of cash backing can take out the competition by selling low-priced products for some years. Then, once their competitors have been run into the ground, they can do whatever they want (high prices, low quality, unfair stipulations in contracts, etc.) for their own benefit. At that point, it’s almost impossible for anyone to compete with them because they’re so big and they have so much control of the market.
