CMV: Feminism belief that “Men have it easier than women” is what alienates men from the movement

Let's talk about feminism for what it objectively is: a dynamic social movement loosely based on an academic framework.

Every movement is going to have a few nut jobs - that's an unavoidable consequence of statistics - but consider a movement that operates almost exclusively on social media, where any nut job can say nut-jobby things on behave of the entire movement.

Social media forces people to communicate with limited visual cues. People can't have the same level of empathy when messaging vs talking, and the result is tribalism.

I think this is a big reason why people are turning away from not only feminism but activism in general (to be fair, something that can't be conveyed easily through blog and forumn posts.

I also blame the academic system. We need empt require empathy to navigate. I think 4th wave feminism is causing tons of social churn among men and women alike, anwhile than necessary.
