CMV: For the average Democrat/liberal, discussing politics with Republicans is pointless

Do you believe that one political party can have all the right answer for all issues bundled nicely and neatly into a party platform?

This is probably the most important line in the thread thus far. It is the height of arrogance to assume that you - and only you - have the right answers for every problem in the world and are so sure of those answers that you won't even listen to people who propose different ones. Even if you never have your mind changed, you should always seek out new ideas and challenge your mindset on the off chance that you are wrong.

In my personal case, I despise Donald Trump and what his presidency has done to the party, but even then I can find a couple of things he has done that I do think were good ideas; his push to get our NATO allies to increase their spending to as not to rely as much on the US was something that needed to happen for a long time. I can hate the man and want him gone and still admit that that idea was a good one that should have been done years ago.
