CMV: Getting clicks by handing out cash to homeless people is vile, classist BS.

People don't become homeless because of wages. It happens because of drugs or mental disorders.

Source?

I've been homeless and known quite a few people who were also homeless and mental illness/drugs played no part at all. I've also never seen any scientific data that backs up what you're saying. You drastically underestimate how often regular debt (from school or medical bills or trying to start your own business or buying a home etc.) screws people over. Regular people spend out of their means all the time. You do know credit cards exist, right? Never mind the insanely high rent prices, that can be increased radically every year by landlords. There isn't even that much regulation on loans, so people can get talked into really shitty financial contracts without realizing how bad of a deal it is. Predatory loans can get insane, and when you've suddenly gotten in a car accident and have massive medical debt out of no where, well... you might end up making some less than ideal choices.

You've clearly never met or been an ordinary working class person. The way you talk about homeless people is giving massive rich kid energy.

Again: I'd like a source for this outrageous claim.
