Alrighty, so I think your view is already changed, you probably opened this up to confirm what you already have a feeling of. Seeing what you wrote already, it's not like the usual malarky I would come across in my day to day.
To start, I've been listening to Insane Clown Posse for a ~18 years. I didn't go looking for them, and when I first heard their music, I was appalled, yet here I am.
Insane Clown Posse, herein referred to as Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, are solid people, in my opinion, because they shaped my life in one way or another.
When I first heard their music, I was very taken in, I was superbly enthralled by the craziness and violence of it all. Let's say, for about 5 years or so, I was so into it, I took it all at FACE value. My years might be rusty, but once I heard the song "IF I was a Serial Killa", it didn't quite click in MY mind that they were FUCKING AROUND. Their music was a joke, not to be taken seriously, and at an even deeper level, to let the listener know, they were not alone, a lot of people go through this, and this is why you shouldn't do it (the previous 6 Joker's cards).
The previous 6 Joker's cards were tales, of people who DID do this shit, who DID do the dirty work, who went down the nasty road of horror and mayhem, who did deeds that were dark and twisted, and if you stick around long enough to listen to the lessons, got what was comin' to em.
Here we are all these years later, they're still telling their tales, of the horrors that the poor souls in their albums did, and the tortures and payback they have coming to them.
It's all mixed in with nonsense, humour, dark crude whatever any mainstream listener would want to pick off at (like me as a teenager picked up on) FACE VALUE.
But now, J and Shaggy are way old, their in their 40's, Shaggy is Married with kids, J has kids (recently divorced), they're just regular dudes
But guess what the fuck what, they now have this gigantic ass family that had nothing but them to look up to back in the day, and this day, and the days beyond, here they are two head figures of this monstrous movement that people do not comprehend, the reach and depth of it goes beyond so much further than Juggalos, but everything always leads back TO Juggalos.
They have maintained, in my opinion, a standup message of friendship, comradery, business, ethics, and an honest, if vulgar at times, way of being.
I havent' known them to deviate from their message one bit, if not in their delivery with their more recent delve into mainstream cooperation.
At one time they were enemies of mainstream media, for good reason I might say, but I imagine all those fuckers are dead or long gone, enter Fuse, Vice, and so on...
I think Insane Clown Posse, Psychopathic Records, Twiztid and their label Majik Ninja Entertainment, the various outskirts of Juggalos, with all branches of Underground movement are absolutely standup guys.
They yelled so loud at someone who simply WOULD NOT LISTEN, and made him THINK about shit...
