CMV: Leaving trash behind in a movie theatre is justified

The broken windows fallacy is an economic allegory that generally helps people understand the idea. The point being that by breaking a window (or throwing trash on the ground) is gong to create jobs such as a window maker or usher. However, that doesn't create jobs and wealth out of nothing, it causes people to pay more money for that job which would have otherwise been given to some other industry. Movie tickets will go up, causing people to redirect their entertainment budget differently. This may mean they don't do ice cream night at the local diary anymore, maybe they buy 1 less CD, one less toy, one less book. So all those people in those industries suffer and you redirect that towards ushers. At the end of the day it's actually a net drag on the economy, not a net gain.
