How is that any different than "kill Voldemort" with every storyline having a purpose even if it's not specifically about killing voldemort?

i really think everything you say about harry potter in your main post can be said about lotr. I couldn't pick the music out of a lineup of other fantasy orchestra. The battles are the only part of the movies i didn't sleep through. Tolkien is the one who made bloat so popular in fantasy in the first place. All of the hobbit is bloat ffs. The similarities keep going. Most characters are 1 dimensional and boring. At the end of the day they're the exact same story. I don't really consider one to be much better than the other.
