CMV: The other side of the political aisle is not evil

We're talking about people who voted for Donald Trump. For president. Donald Trump. We're talking about people who somehow believe a vaccine will make you magnetic, who believe women should not have basic bodily autonomy, that white supremacy is dandy, and that there were 100,000 children trafficked through the basement of a pizza parlour that does not physically have a basement.

I voted Trump and I believe none of those things. Hell, I haven't even heard of half of them.

Thinking they're lacking in intellectual ability and full of hate is not a belief founded in some kind of othersim, dude.

I prefer his policies on economics, immigration, and COVID to the opponent's (Biden and the Dems).

I am so desperately tired of this. This is ALWAYS one-sided

It's one-sided for a reason - a lot of people on your side will assume something without even possibly considering the other side. You just assumed all Trump voters believe in weird things about vaccines and pizza places that I've never even heard of. Most of us just want a secure border.

This is people trying to harm others.

Nope. They are there representing a chunk of the voters in this country. Probably 20%-50% of the country but still representing them nonetheless. That's what they're supposed to do - represent... unless you don't believe in democracy.

We need MORE calling out, MORE vitriol, MORE making clear this is not academic disagreement.

Sounds a bit anti-democratic... it's as if to say there is no room for ideas that disagree with you. Just saying...
