CMV: People over the age of 70 shouldn't be allowed to hold public office

I don't hate old people, but I do think there comes a time that younger generations need to take the reins for the good of humanity as a whole.

So vote accordingly. It's a democracy.

If you don't want old people in public office, don't vote for them. If you want to go a step further still, don't vote them and petition your fellow citizens to not vote for them either.

That's democracy.

The biggest problem with your view isn't you opinion about old people or politics, it's your ego. You think certain people shouldn't be in public office, whatever, it's a democracy, vote accordingly, you think certain people shouldn't be in public office therefore it should be illegal for them to even run is terrible undemocratic nonsense.

There's a reason people who hate small-d democracy always argue that their opponent shouldn't even be allowed to run.

Age limits are undemocratic nonsense.

And, yes, the 35 year old minimum to run for president is nonsense too and should be abolished (along with the natural-born citizen requirement).
