Cmv: People who believed Jussie Smollet are fully indoctrinated and incapable of critical thinking

They are capable of critical (and even self critical) thinking. Here's one example: http://www.pajiba.com/celebrities_are_better_than_you/jussie-smollett-has-exposed-a-nightmare-for-journalists.php

The problem is, this same site earlier posted there was "no lesson to learn" from it, and still doubles down with the insane:

But we’re not going to stop believing victims, and that means once out of every 99 times, we might get it wrong.

A big ideal in the US justice system is it's better to let 100 guilty people go than put one innocent behind bars. Unless we now want to trade that for "when we rush to judgement we might get it wrong at the expense of innocent people".

But the fact that they took a moment to be introspective and walk things back, that ought to give hope. But basically everything u/Grunt08 said applies here. It was a mistake, not a failure to think critically. And articles like the one I shared show a willingness to admit wrongdoing. One everyone across the entire political spectrum ought to emulate.
