CMV: The Renaissance and Industrial Revolution has been a net bad for society

If the budda agrees with your original premise on that then absolutely. No sane person enjoys that kind of struggle unless it’s something they have the privilege of not having to do. There is no truth to be gained in it beyond this is horrible. People who really struggle wouldn’t call not having to do it a negative.

If budda understand/understood the type of society where that is required then the budda is disgusting because they value gaining their truth over drastically lowing child mortality rate. That’s the thing, any society who has to do that and lacks our advancements is 1 where parents regularly have to suffer from their children dying before adulthood. That alone overrides any negatives caused to mental health by the industrial revolution.
