If your process crashed, there’s a strong chance restarting it is the only solution. Restarting your computer fixed 9 out of 10 problems. Would you suggest wasting 30+ minutes for a chance of not losing your work… when a 5 minute restart would work?

You’re passing on the blame of not saving your - you need to take more responsibility here. Restarting your computer clears all the processing and you may lose your work but that is your fault for not saving it sooner. At most you should lose 15 minutes of work if you were responsible about it.

As a side note - Most applications now will detect a temporary file to recoverable files if it exists and isn’t corrupted.
