Biden is a rust belt kid from Pennsylvania. He is in extremely tight with the Unions. He is also well liked by African Americans and generally well received with baby boomers. Elections aren’t about vote totals. It’s about the electoral college. The only path is through Florida and the Rust Belt, both areas that Bernie and the other far left candidates would have virtually no chance of winning. Biden has a chance in those states because of the points I mentioned above.

Hilary campaigned on “crushing” the coal miners and oil and gas companies. She was finished the moment she bragged about how many coal miners would lose their jobs. With that one sound bite she lost Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Biden has been much softer on pushing those topics because he knows he needs those blue collar workers to win an election. Biden can pull on his Union connections and could have a real chance to take back the rust belt.
