If you classify people with beliefs as banal as favoring affirmative action as SJWs, the term loses all meaning. You've just elided "SJW" with "Democrat"--of course when you do that SJWs don't look fringe. But ~40% of the country, while Democrats, are not SJWs, a term we reserve for people who genuinely hold extreme social positions and/or use abrasive or comically stupid tactics to promote their views. If we call a run-of-the-mill Democrat an SJW, what are we supposed to call people who run tumblrs like "your fat feminist friend," posting their dailyintersectionality drivel and maintaining that having a genital preference in your partners is transphobic?
