CMV: Spaghetti is objectively the worst pasta noodle and every pasta dish would be improved with a better noodle.

Other than it sounds like you're having sauce issues, the quality of pasta matters too, especially if you're using dried pasta. Good copper/bronze extruded pasta will have a rough texture which will hold to the sauce and absorb flavour better too.

Also, cook your spaghetti until it has a slight bite to it still, and add it to your sauce in the pan, mix it and let it rest before serving. Do not just ladle sauce on top.

Spaghetti is a good pasta because it is efficient, for the amount of pasta you eat, requires a lower number of times you need to pick it up from your plate. It does not require being stabbed to be eaten. Compared to other pasta, spaghetti is also easy and forgiving in being cooked consistently throughout, and can be plated easily with a nice visual presentation.

Spaghetti is closely related to instant noodles/ramen, the number one instant food in the world.
