CMV: I support LGB, but not the T (NSFW)

There exist trans people who don't necessarily desire to have SRS. And even then, you can one hundred percent be an advocate for the rights and well-being of trans people on every other subject that pertains to them, other than SRS. SRS is not the sole subject to be had about trans people.

I don't disagree. I support their rights as individuals. I don't support the normalisation of SRS, and by supporting the T part of the LGBT movement as it currently is, which is pushing people down that path in the name of 'progress' - there are actually groups in Europe that promote SRS, then I would be contributing to that. I would never not accept an individual themselves. Its modern cultures path I have an issue with, and what T is to that as a generalisation.

Normal people don't have to shave their hair like chemo patients.

Chemotherapy is not being normalised, and lets hope it never is. This is, by certain demographics within society who are willing to push anything in the name of progress for their own political agenda.

Look up literally any operation and you'll feel queasy. Again, how is your personal disgust of gore relevant? What if I thought radiology was inhumane? Does my emotional assessment of something matter?

I understand where you're coming from, but it's not vulgar as in the operation itself, its vulgar because its being promoted within modern culture as normal. There's a certain sect in society, and im not saying its people on here, who push for this as if its a quick fix to many problems facing the T community.

This is a legitimate criticism. However, just because it is statistically inconsistent does not mean that there are not cases where it significantly helps someone. Rather than wholesale abandonment, perhaps you should have a stance that we should better our ability to discern which patients will benefit and which ones will not. Or that we should continue to improve the effectiveness of the procedure.

I think we should be exploring everything possible to improve the situation, but not only resorting to physical routes, but mental routes as well, or even drug related routes if we learn new things that take us down that path. I just think the normalisation and acceptance from some as this being 'the answer' is wrong. We must strive to find the answer and help people in this community. Many are suffering in silence.

You don't really understand how difficult it is to actually get one of these procedures. If there was a legitimate attempt to unethically profit off of this procedure, you wouldn't see the dramatic wait times and consultation periods that people undergo.

The consultation process and everything is required for legal reasons, and often actually contributes to the profit motive. In thriving private sector healthcare, thats how the bills add up.

Just because you choose to describe something as gross does not constitute a point of any kind.

So you think leaving someone with an open wound with unhealthy discharge that needs to have a dildo inserted regularly to stop it from closing is acceptable? Its not, and people are suffering because they realise it.

You might understand if you meaningfully interacted and communicated with trans people to understand their feelings on the subject.

I do. Why do you think I started watching the videos? I didn't even know about dilation before then. I know people suffering at the hands of this and whilst id rather not go into that here, I see the pain it brings them knowing they cannot reverse it and just have to accept it now and try to move on.
