CMV: There isn't really a good reason to buy a tablet.

Plus size phones don't cancel the size argument, because a plus size phone isn't as big as a tablet screen.

For example, I've always used an iPad, I like it being about the size of a piece of paper. I can read a web page without an issue. I recently got an iPhone 6+. Its large, but trying to browse something like reddit is a pain in the ass and you have to scroll all over the place.

You have to take into account that not everyone's eyes work like yours. I have few focal ranges I can see at, and the ability to use a larger screen to give me larger fonts and such makes my life easier. It also allows for a larger keyboard, so I can message or email people more effectively with less reliance on autocorrect to screw up everything my fat fingers type.

Although I can do many of these tasks on the iPhone 6+, its usually a pain if it is more than a quick message or email. I find the annoyance level much higher which causes me to send more shorter messages and editing text is much more difficult.

Certainly for gaming you want a full fledged PC with all the processing/graphics, and memory you could ever want, which is great, but I don't use my iPad for gaming anyway so that point is moot.

If I'm being productive, nothing on the iPad or iPhone has any ability to do what I want anyway, so I just use a laptop at that point. Unfortunately, laptops aren't all that portable, and getting power to it is not always possible wherever you go if you're on the move.

For me the iPad and iPhone works for me. The iPad for more end of day/take glasses off/eyes are tired, so I want a larger visual form factor. My phone is good "most" of the time, but for detail work or reading small text I have to either zoom in and scroll for days, or press my face against the glass.
