CMV: There is nothing wrong with being right leaning

So American Right is much different than European Right. American Left in some parts of the world is more so inline with European Right than European Left. I think it's too hard to draw broad comparisons of left/right dichotomy.

Overall there's a difference between a person who votes US Republican and doesn't pay attention to politics and someone who thinks about these issues and argues for a conservative government. Those two people are totally different even if they vote the same. The first person may have a single issue they vote on or vote because of a few odd reasons.

Whereas someone who is invested in politics and votes that way is making a conscious choice, which is bad.

Idk if anyone can convince you how economic right leaning policies harm billions and cause massive damage to the world. We can see this in the US with the eviction moratorium ending w/o rent relief, no universal healthcare, student loan debt, starvation wages, homelessness, climate change, etc.

I'd also mention that being conservative also has racism and sexism and homophobia embedded into it. It is about keeping the current power structures in place and often is about keeping power contained to certain groups. Now racism, sexism, homophobia has all been on the left too. We've seen this through history, but as time progresses we see economic policies on the left have an understanding of both class and race. Though not as often as they should.

Economic policy has impacts that impact people along race and gender and sexual orientation. Being socially left, but fiscally right is being right wing. In the US you can get by with that and be a liberal, but I'd argue liberals have moved to the right in response to Republicans going right for decades. But this is also based on age.
