CMV: The UK should become a Republic

You wish to make multiple radical changes to British government and society. But this is likely to have a lot of unanticipated negative effects, as did similar changes which were done in France in the late 1700s. Unless one has a compelling reason to make each of these radical changes, one ought to think twice before doing so.

> Their wealth comes from land ownership, which I find inherently problematic (land is a natural resource and exists \*a priori**).*

You seem to be suggesting we abolish wealth held in land. This is a very radical change, as land has been a main way wealth has been held for millenia. Simply because you find it problematic is far from enough for such a radical change.

> The Church of England should be disestablished

What about all those people who are happy worshiping in the Church of England? They should just stay home, or join some other religion. Who are you to tell them their church should not exist?

> The origin of their power comes from the divine right of kings.

No, it comes from tradition.

> Any civilized society should have a strict separation of church and state.

In the history of western civilization, this is a relatively new idea. Many European states have functioned just fine without such a separation. Why do you see this as bad enough in England to disestablish the Church of England and to create this new separation of church and state, which has never been the case there?
