CMV: White people with dreadlocks is not cultural appropriation

On one hand, I'm not willing to die on the dreadlock hill; I've seen religious people in India rocking them so I can't claim its "unique" to Black cultures (cornrows are different.

Yeah that's the sense I get from black people. This generally isn't an issue amongst black people when there's so much else white people do that's so much worse. From what I can tell it's very uptight and overly politically correct form of white people.

Just in case this reads badly to some. I'm solidly liberal and some would say leftist. I just think the recent wave of identity politics is a way to sell the Wall Street Democrat ideology to young people. To specifically racialize, queer, etc isn't the way to get a better country. All cultures appropriate. Immigrants are expected to. Often too much. White culture has appropriated heavily because outside of bationality, whiteness is either devoid of culture, even though it's built into institutions. Debates about cultural appropriation shouldn't have started happening. That's not to say it's always okay. Just that it feels my perspective.
