You do not understand were we are coming from. Since 1800's the Afrikaners wanted to govern ourselves:
In 1795 the British invaded the Cape, we fought then at Muizenberg.
In 1806 we fought the British again after they invaded the Cape. This time they were there to stay and immediately start a campaign of Anglicizing our schools, courts and churches.
That is why in 1838 we trekked away from British domination to set up our own colony
So we went to Natal and bought land from Dingane the Zulu king. Just for him to turn on us after payment and kill our men, women and children. Look into the "Bloukrans & Weenen massacres".
So, we fought Dingaan and defeated his impi's at the battle of Blood River.
Just for the English to rock up and claim Natal as theirs. We fight and we lose.
Now our women are the ones' who say that they, "would rather walk barefoot over the Drakensburg mountains than stay under a foreign government".
So the men take their families and move inland. Our forefathers buy land from tribal chiefs, fight with one tribe against another for land, and in some cases just steal land.
By the late 1800's we have 2 small Boer republics, Transvaal and the Free State.
Diamonds are discovered in the Free State and Gold in the Transvaal. FML.
Here comes the British and the 1st Anglo Boer war breaks out, we win for a change.
It is 1899 and Cecil John Rhodes, the British Empire and the Boer republics go for round 2. The 2nd Anglo Boer war breaks out.
The British burn our farms, salt our fields, bayonet our animals and put our women and children in concentration camps where they exterminate 22 000. After 3 years we surrender.
It is 1910 and the British combine the Cape Province, British Natal with the Transvaal and Free State to create the Union of South Africa. We did not want this union. We did not want British overlords, or to be part of the British commonwealth.
It is 1914 and we stand up have a rebellion against the British. Get squashed.
Right, so fighting militarily against the British is a losing battle. So, we change tactics and and go political, and in 1948 we take over the government. 13 years later we declare the Republic of South Africa and tell Britain and the commonwealth to go fuck themselves.
Now this is where our leaders made 2 mistakes.
1) they kept the 4 provinces as a unit, they should have broken South Africa up into many small states. Like Gordonia, Stella, Griekwaland etc.
2) We assumed that black people also wanted self government like we wanted. They did not. They just wanted money, and as long as a prosperous South Africa existed as a unit, it was doomed because of this.
But there is hope. The ideal of Afrikaner self determination and government is alive and well, and growing stronger every year the corrupt and murderous ANC regime is in power. With more and more places like Orania in the works!
