CNN Moderators, Alarmed by Cost of Medicare for All, Ignore Price Tag of Endless War

This is another issue - in some European systems drug companies aren't allowed to advertise. It makes sense. Drug ads are effective at getting people to ask their doctor for the drug and in many cases the doctor goes along. Essentially, the commercials present a solution and patients find a problem. Folks see happy people on TV in advertisements who had their life restored by a drug, they empathize with those characters and share symptoms listed in the commercial. Many doctors fulfill requests for these pills unless there is serious risk involved. Ideally, patients would feel symptoms, go to the doctor, and let the doctor advise their treatment. Instead, they see ads suggesting that one symptom or another means they may have x diagnosis or y diagnosis and they need to ask their doctor about the drug. It's the nature of marketinf and in other countries pharma isn't allowed to advertise.
