Co-governance not enough to satisfy indigenous rights declaration, Government told

An alternative is to divide all the land in NZ (except land owned by Maori tribes) among the current citizens, so everyone gets a fair and equal share (land size based on value of the land. You could have more rural land, or less urban land). That way nobody is left without land to call their own.

A lot of people who currently own a lot of land would hate that.

And subsidize university/apprenticeships etc for Maori so it's free. And bring dental under universal healthcare so it's free to access, paid by taxes. This would help start to fix intergenerational poverty caused by the actions of the white settlers who messed everything up back in the day.
