Cold Turkey (2001). A photojournalist named Lanre Fehintola who planned on publishing a book on the lives of heroin addicts sadly ended up getting addicted himself. This documents his journey going “cold turkey”. (47:59)

It can seem so innocent. Like if you take a small amount and don't fall asleep but instead just have a really happy productive day.

I've never done heroin probably never will though. Just kratom. One time I had a roommate convince me spot him $50 so he could buy a bundle from the city to bring back to school and sell to the locals. He was going to pay me back and let me try some.

The local friends were like nah dude didn't even let him get started on it at all but he rationalized he would be the only one I could get it from so how could I get addicted.

He took too much and started nodding out on his drive back to school and got arrested. So he never came back and never tried heroin.

I imagine my life would be completely different if I had.
