College Dropouts, how are you doing now?

I won't mention that some of the world's most successful & influential people never finished college (Anne Hathaway for one- learned that this week), but to answer your question...

As of now I'm well into adulthood & living with my sister (practically homeless), & jobless (waiting on background check), & carless. The woman who wants to marry me is waiting for me to get things in order, especially financially. Life could be better...

My story is that I didn't have money to keep it going, & due to several thousand banks closing in one year, a special deal they worked out for me, using my financial aid to pay off previous semester debt, was no longer available. It was one is the hardest, most embarrassing, most heartbreaking failures of my life. Allot of people missed me, one girl actually PMed me in FB a very mean spirited message that only discouraged me more. I remember moving in with my mom back home & rewatching Muppet's Treasure Island over & over while she was at work, that & Rush Hour 2 on DVD; I laughed at all the jokes, way after they weren't even funny anymore. Life was sad; I felt like such a failure, even to this day. That was ten years ago. I haven't been able to hold down a steady job, & I've stopped talking to family & even being around them is painful for me; some of them paid for my books in college. I made the Dean's List my first year too.

But then, being the religious person I am (gasps!), I prayed, read the Bible everyday, & eventually started working on music, as I should've done all along. My courage began to grow, & life became worth living; I had hope, & trusted that this was from G-d & that I needed work my hardest to become successful with music.

I now officially have two albums in i-Tunes, Amazon, Pandora, Spotify, everywhere- even YouTube; I've made money, but not enough, not yet. Now I'm working on my third album, while applying for a part-time job so I can put money towards this album. I'm so excited!

Now I realize there thing I was missing during college; direction- I was headed in the wrong one. Now I've got a clear vision for my future, a future I can accomplish with or without a college degree.

Don't get me wrong, college can be very beneficial if you know what you want, but dropping out of college isn't the end of the world; worse would be going for the wing reasons.

Life is getting much better now, now that I've become more self disciplined. Goal is to become a millionaire, like so many others; I'm on my way.

It's tough at first, but it gets easier as you push forward, establish a vision for your future, & form & execute a plan to accomplish it all.

Hang in there.
