College students don't want to go to graduation ceremonies, but they go to please their relatives, while relatives don't want to go but go to support the students; we should all just be honest and skip that ceremony and go out for pizza.

I wanted to go. I graduated in winter, so it was a much smaller (and shorter) ceremony. But my mom stopped talking to me two weeks before the ceremony (she didn't want to go and wasn't brave enough to just say it) and my dad didn't feel like making the trip out. I had grandparents and a bunch of uncles in town who said they would go, but they all had excuses the day of. So I returned my cap and gown and didn't go. That was years ago, but I regret it to this day. I should have just gone and felt accomplished all on my own, without needing my family's validation. But I dunno, it just doesn't feel right when you don't have someone there to cheer for you.
