College students, what are some of the must-know tricks and life hacks you want to share with us? [Serious]

Okay -

Time management. It's really fun to get drunk and stoned all day - but it's even more fun to get drunk and stoned in the evening after finishing everything that is needed and reviewing your work. I structured my classes so that I could sleep in (starting around noon) and, as much as I could, only on a single day. On my off days, I would go to the library and spend time in the library. I was always in the library until nine, every day, but after nine I did absolutely no school work. I got in to this habit and it carried me through college, and I also had plenty of time to have fun. It kept my grades up, and I would also definitely reward myself throughout the quarter with a day off here or there. This was harder as my upper division classes got more intense, but I still tried, and at the end of the day, 9 was my dinner/drink bell.

Social management. As much as it is pushed on this site to buckle down and just focus entirely on studies, you can't deny the social aspect of college. Also, this is potentially the last time in your life where you will be dropped into a scary situation with a ton of people on the exact same page as you. Take advantage of that and have fun, and if you need to, re-invent yourself. It's really easy when you're young. If you're going to drink or do drugs, there is no better time to experiment and be a jackass. I think everyone gets a pass between the ages of 18-21 with regards to being a jackass in some ways... it's not "okay" to be an idiot when you're in your mid-20's.

Take an easy semester/quarter to just enjoy the college lifestyle. College is unique, and adult life is relatively crushing, depending on various factors. Take one semester/quarter to take a funky class or two if you can, while still being productive and pursuing your major. This could also be a study-abroad semester. Almost everyone I know needed to take a whole quarter to kill some GE's in their later years. Take advantage of that time to have fun and enjoy wherever you are living. You're only going to be able to get that unique kind of lifestyle while you're in college, and people who want to hate on the privilege of taking advantage of an all-day happy hour are just jealous.

Pursue either a major you enjoy and accept the consequences of a difficult job search, or focus on an employable major. Don't bitch too much if you decide to take the easier route. I took the easier route, and while I paid for it for a bit, I am now (somewhat) gainfully employed and have insurance and all of those fancy adult things.

Most of all, just fucking enjoy it. College can be a really unique and fun time in your life. It is possibly the only time in your life where you will be able to take silly impromptu adventures to the beach or take a day to drive somewhere. It's definitely the only time in your life when getting totally ripped is socially acceptable, and one of the last times when you can be totally open with everyone you meet. Try to have fun through it.
