A combat veteran with PTSD wasn’t allowed to fly with her service dog. So she sued.

An ESA animal is not protected as an actual service animal, which can only be a dog unless they added horses once again.

An ESA, no matter what, is not recognized as a proper service companion. It bothers me greatly people make this misconception.

I have a service dog. He is for my schizophrenia, and is trained. He has a Velcro patch I slap on his harness, but because I look healthy, and the abuse of ESA animals and confusing them with service animals, we never leave.

August we left to visit an old friend and I knew it was going to be rough mentally, and I brought my service dog. The judgements and stares and sneers over it were enough to end my day early, my dog alerting me to onset of "bad brain" and bad routines multiple times.

Since then I stay home. I haven't left unless for work. I get absurdly angry now hearing of these abuses because I am punished for the actions of others now. People like me genuinely need our dogs to go to large areas, or even leave home in most cases.

But instead I feel too ashamed to any more because some fuckwit wants an emotional support chicken or some other twit wants to have a dog where pets aren't allowed.

So yeah I hope your friend abusing that feels great. And everyone else abusing the ESA/SA misconception.

In the meantime me and my service dog sit inside unless we can go to the park because of how horribly people treat us. And while it is easy to say 'ignore them', that is something someone as paranoid as myself can't do.

Sorry for ranting. It is two am and I've spoken to nobody but collegues in three months.
