Short Answer: No.

Long Answer: Congratulations 32P, you got me. Unfortunately, unlike /u/catvllvs, I do not have the time to frequent the forums of every site I visit. For CBT I stopped in, read the announcements, and grabbed my weekly dose of comics before moving on with my life. I assume the majority of CBT users are in the same position.

When I first opened up CBT this morning, I assumed it had been hacked. Why wouldn't I? There weren't any announcements or messages sent out announcing the changes or stressing the need for secrecy. I tried a few purposely incorrect logins to test to see if this new site was just a phishing website (you can never be too careful) and they failed. I tried my actual login information and was able to get in, confirming that this site did indeed have the user/pass database at the very least. I read the announcements page, poked around the site, and checked to see if there were any rules against posting it (Spoiler, there weren't) and came over to reddit to see if there were any threads about it. There weren't, so I double checked this subreddits rules to see if there were any rules against it (Spoiler, there weren't) and posted the link to it. I chose the title I did because it would not be the first time that a site has been hacked and redirected to a phishing site and because there was zero announcement from the CBT staff beforehand to let me know that this change was coming. I know the staff are all volunteers, but man, this whole thing reeks of unprofessionalism.

I understand the desire for privacy. I really do. And like I said, if there was even a brief message on the announcements page asking for the url not to be posted, I wouldn't have. But there wasn't, and there still isn't one. Do you honestly expect every member of 32P/CBT to read every post in the forum? What's next, do you want the site to ban everybody who doesn't know that all of the real announcments are in the forum?

I have plenty of respect for the hardworking 32P staff. I love the new design! If a member of the staff messages me on either here or the site I would be more than happy to take my thread down. Otherwise, I stick to my thread even though most of my comments have been downvoted to oblivion. What I do not have respect for however, is you, /u/catvllvs/. You have consistently brough personal attacks to our discussion, and I am growing tired of reading them where I would rather be reading actual arguments. Please take them somewhere else.
