Coming from DotA, how the hell do you play this game?

Hey man! I requested access to the link you sent me. From email address [email protected] . If you don't mind, I'd still like to use the replay.

I am glad that you still enjoy DotA. For me, I just don't have the time/will to maintain the level of play that I expect of myself in that game. It is true there are obvious tiers in HotS, but I also think that it is because the game is so young. I completely agree with you, and I understand your frustration. This assessment is even more true of LoL than of HotS.

DotA truly is hard to match. My belief is that DotA is so good because of the grassroots nature of the game. I don't know if you were around in the WC3 days, but I tell you... The community and leaders of the DotA scene were incredible. Their legacy is a lasting one. I played it for 8 years, more than half those years at the highest levels. I was in a clan with GodZ, who is now a caster. We were scrimming top teams from across the world. I miss those days.

Regarding the pay2win model, I agree with this as well. In economics, the term for such a model is called perfect price discrimination. It is a business's ultimate dream. To be frank with you, since you see the same problems as me, I am attempting to gain community popularity/clout because I want to fight against these stringent pay2win models. I think that a unified gamer community is a force to be reckoned with, one that Blizzard will not be able to ignore. Don't get me wrong, I am not some sort of militant white knight. I simply understand that the playerbase is the source of income. As such, a united playerbase has the ability to make Blizzard pay attention to our grievances. WE are the customers, WE need to be served. I'm speaking to you with perfect honesty because I feel a kinship with DotA players. I think people who enjoy DotA are a distinct breed. Obviously, I do not think that DotA players are all the same, but I do believe there is a common thread. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you just kept these words between us. This is truly a delicate subject and I am attempting a huge undertaking. I do not expect to succeed, but I would like to try. One of my role models is a man named Noam chomsky, and he has spent his entire life trying to unite not only the population of America, but the population of the world. I am much too selfish to sacrifice my entire life as he did, but I can at least try to do my part for the community which I love most--gamers.

I am glad that we came in contact dude. I'm sorry for the rant. I'm not a crazy person I swear, I think I just care way too much. Do your thing, keep supporting DotA! One of the best games in the fucking world. I sincerely hope to help change this disturbing trend coming from gaming companies that seems to completely disregard the needs of the very people who support them. As you may have noticed, this model is wildly profitable. It will become the norm for all gaming companies if we, the gamers, do not push back.
