Coming off lamictol rapidly....

I had the same thing happen to me when I was 16. Got a 90 day prescription from a CBAT, couldn't find an outpatient prescriber willing to keep prescribing lamotrigine because the one I saw didn't feel comfortable prescribing me an uncontrolled substance mood stabilizer because I smoke weed. Other than the mood swings coming back, I didn't have any negative experiences coming off of this med like withdrawals/discontinuation syndrome.

When I turned 18 I didnt have to deal with pediatric prescribers anymore, immediately saw the adult psychiatrist my mom was seeing, and got back on lamotrigine and have been on it for over 4 years again this time around. It's been helpful and I hope you are able to get insurance again soon. If you go back on it, you will need to do the titration all over again.
