Coming to terms with just how armed Trump followers were on Jan. 6 | The more we learn about how armed Jan. 6 insurrectionists were, the more we're reminded of Republicans who pretended otherwise.

Yes, they had at least two rapid response teams equipped to bring additional arms and ammunition and gear to various locations at a signal, at hotel rooms just outside the prohibited area.

Many other groups had their own plans.

And Many individuals, like the police officers and soldiers, etc, just simply carry every day. Think active duty police sergeant who always conceals a gun while off-duty just left it at home the one day he went out to take “back his country” and “stop the steal” of the federal election? They all left their guns they feel necessary to conceal carry in Walmart, at home the day they’re looking to go fight “for their country and president”?

Trump demanded the metal detectors be taken down, when he saw how large of a percentage of his supporters couldn’t get through to see him. He was told they had guns and he said he didn’t care, and put up those big bullet proof glass shields on the stage. Then he sent them to “March down to the Capitol and fight like hell to get their country back” after knowing how many of them had guns, and after knowing his rally permit explicitly prohibited the Capitol. Because it’s fucking illegal to interfere with the process lol. He knew this. We know this.
