Are you actually talking about those who want nothing more than to vanquish "the enemy"? "Enemy", meaning anyone who doesn't take up arms to defend them - i.e. those they consider to be "the problem"? Oppressor wannabes? "Poor little sad sacks"? Do you think "nice" would survive them?

They're a monster factory - speaking of child soldiers - gangs - and other social/political authority of all kinds.

I'm not sending any sort of message or trying to effect anyone. I'm trying to figure out what "advantage" they believe they get from begging to be punched in the face and then whining and throwing fits about it every five minutes? Other than some backward sort of camaraderie that is only as reliable as they are which is about as reliable as an umbrella in a wind storm.

Those who sense that there's something wrong in the ideas they've been fed about the world don't need "messages" from people. When their attention shifts to exploring how things work, if they have an actual interest in answers rather than merely seeking evidence they can beat someone else over the head with to support what they believe and claim, then the "message" can come to them in the wind, from the birds or the mumblings of a homeless man or watching a Jordan play basketball. Reality doesn't need anyone to speak for it.

"Nice"...pffft. Whiners eat "nice" for breakfast. I don't feel sorry for them because they're "sad". I feel sorry for them because they're already half dead, rotting from the inside out and utterly clueless about what they're missing. The personal freedom to turn their personal reality around?!? Right before their own eyes? To actually watch as reality depresses the clutch turning an entire upheaval neutral, down shifts, hangs a right and hauls the whole shebang off somewhere else - somewhere away from you - with maybe one other, out of a thousand or ten thousand even noticing what happened because they did the same thing and give you a nod as you both go on about your business.

Is that harsh, bubba? Tell me how it could be said "nicely", pussyfooting around and probably still not being understood that wouldn't take 10 written volumes or a month of yammering?
